Vehicle pursuit leads to the arrest of two

On October 2, 2020 just before 2:00am, Sgt. Cody Low was patrolling on Country Manor in Country Squire Lakes when he observed a white Chevrolet Cavalier commit a traffic infraction. Sgt. Low attempted to catch up to the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle turned onto a side road at a high rate of speed and Sgt. Low lost sight of the vehicle.
Deputies combed the area and Deputy Doug Brown located the vehicle on Cedar Knoll Drive. As Deputy Brown pulled behind the white Cavalier, the driver attempted to waive Deputy Brown around. Deputy Brown activated his emergency lights and the white Cavalier fled at a high rate of speed.
The white Cavalier led both Deputies on high speed pursuit throughout Country Squire Lakes where speeds reached 90 MPH. Tire deflation devices were deployed and the driver of the Cavalier was able to avoid the deflation devices while almost striking Sgt. Low with his vehicle.
As the pursuit continued back onto Cedar Knoll, the Caviler left the roadway and struck a ditch line where the vehicle became disabled. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot from the scene. The passenger, Breeanna Howell (age 20, North Vernon), was taken into custody at the scene.
Sgt. Cody Low deployed canine Axle to track the fleeing driver. The driver, Robert Summers III (age 25, North Vernon) was located hiding near the edge of a lake. Summers was taken into custody without further incident. Both subjects were treated at the scene by Jennings County EMS.

Possession of a Synthetic Drug: A Misd
Resisting Law Enforcement: A Misd
Reckless Driving: B Misd
Cash Bond $2605.00
