Attempts to deceive deputies didn't go as planned.

02/26/2020

On February 24, 2020, Ian McPherson and Sgt. Mike Mowery were dispatched to a Sand Creek Township residence in reference to an unknown male possibly sleeping in a detached garage of the property owner.

Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the male subject. This male subject identified himself as a person who was later discovered to not only be wanted by Law Enforcement, but was currently incarcerated in another county jail. The male quickly denied that he was the same person. Deputy McPherson continued the investigation and discovered that the male was actually Jesse C. Scott. Records indicated that Scott was wanted out of Bartholomew County for Probation Violation. Scott was arrested for the outstanding warrant as well as False Informing. Mr. Scott stated that he couldn't believe that the fake name he provided to Law Enforcement was wanted and incarcerated.

Later on the same day during a separate investigation, Deputy Kyle Lee encountered a male subject who also provided a false name. After further investigation, it was discovered that the male subject was Tommy E. Redkey III, and not the male he identified himself as. Redkey advised he provided a false name to Deputy Lee because he thought he was wanted on a warrant. Redkey quickly learned he was not wanted on a warrant, but was arrested for False Informing.
